Our design features prison bars and a circle which symbolise themes of confinement, but also transformation and freedom.
The bars represent the challenges of incarceration, evoking the sense of restriction and the hardships of imprisonment.The circle symbolises unity, wholeness, reflecting the goal of reintegration, personal transformation, and the transition from life inside prison to life outside. The logo is really about breaking free from the cycle of incarceration and embracing a new life through creative expression and personal growth.

INTRODUCING
OUR 2024 DESIGNERS
CHANEL
The idea behind my design comes from my negative experiences: we can all get locked into a cycle of toxicity, whether with the law, relationships, or bad habits. But I know now that we can always make the decision to refocus and lock onto a positive target. That’s what I’m doing now, focusing my time and energy on the constructive things in my life.
TASCHAN
My life has been full of painful experiences as long as I’ve known myself, and I learned early on that the best way to protect myself was to feel nothing. Being numb or frozen means giving up the good feelings along with the bad, but being cold-hearted has made me a survivor. This design represents my survival.
MICHAEL
I have always been motivated to aim for better, and have never given up trying to achieve it, but going to prison opened my eyes to how much of my time and my potential I was wasting. My design is ‘potential’ because I have always believed in mine, and want other people who might be struggling, to believe in theirs.
LAWRENCE
My design is a bear because it represents me. I can be a teddy bear – soft and comforting; and I can be a grizzly bear – dangerous when antagonised. We all have different sides to us, and I think we should embrace all the different aspects of ourselves because they make us who we are.
JOE
In prison I met people serving sentences like 17 years, and I realised that if I kept on the path I was on, one day that could be me. I had to make the choice to change my life when I was released. My design represents the fact that we are all faced with choices in everything that we do. We have to use our brains, think things through, and make decisions about where we stand on everything in life.
CRISTIAN (WORN BY MODEL)
My design is Mood Swings because I’ve experienced them my whole life, although prison made it clear how much they affect me. I think a lot of people are impacted by their mood swings, but we all have to deal with them and work around them to live our best lives and achieve our goals.
Martell
Being out of prison and part of Inside Out has opened doors for me that I thought were closed forever, but the opportunity to be truly involved in my kids’ lives again is the second chance that means the most to me. Spending time in prison meant missing out on a lot but it didn’t mean the end of my life, and I’m grateful to have this second chance to do so many things, and to do them better this time.
MARTALLUS
The time I spent in prison gave me a chance to reload my life – it gave me the opportunity to think straight and get myself sorted out. My life is now beginning to blossom again with all the time and work I’ve put into this new chapter of my story, and that is symbolised by the rose in my design.

Inside Out's main mission is to generate realistic job prospects for young people leaving the justice system by creating opportunities in business through fashion and design.
